What the wedding day service includes (standard)
A professional bridal makeup service for the wedding day typically includes:
- Full face application covers primer, foundation, concealer, colour correction where needed, contouring, eyes including shadow, liner and brows, cheeks, and lips.
- Long-wear and photography-safe products are chosen specifically for bridal conditions to ensure the look holds and photographs well throughout the day.
- Strip lashes are included by most artists as standard, though they are occasionally priced separately, so always confirm before booking.
- Setting with powder and setting spray is applied to ensure all-day longevity.
- Final check and adjustments are made by the artist who will review the full look before leaving.
- A touch-up kit note is provided by most good artists, who will tell you which lip shade they used and what to carry for the rest of the day.
What's usually NOT included in the headline price
- The trial appointment
- Travel to your venue
- Bridal party members
- Individual lashes (vs strip)
- Staying for touch-ups
- Second look / evening change
- Is the trial included or separate?
- What is the travel fee?
- Do you bring an assistant for large parties?
- Are lashes included?
- What is the cancellation policy?
The trial: included or separate?
This is the most common source of confusion in bridal makeup pricing. The majority of artists price the trial separately from the wedding day service, typically at 50–80% of the wedding day rate. Some offer a reduced or refundable trial fee that is credited back when you book the full package. A small number include the trial in the overall package price.
Always ask explicitly: "Is the trial included in this price, or is it additional?" Don't assume either way.
Travel fees
Most artists travel to the bride's venue or getting-ready location on the wedding day. This travel is almost always an additional cost, calculated either as a flat fee or per mile beyond a certain radius. For local weddings (within 20 miles), many artists offer free or low-cost travel. For destination or remote venues, travel can add significantly to the total.
Always get the full quote including travel before comparing prices from different artists. A lower headline price with higher travel costs may be more expensive overall.
What "bridal package" might mean
Some artists offer tiered packages that bundle different combinations of services:
- Trial and wedding day is the most common pairing, with a trial at the studio followed by wedding day travel to your location.
- Full journey packages include engagement session makeup, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day as a complete service. These are more expensive but ensure the artist is with you through the full experience.
- Destination packages offer all-in pricing that covers travel, accommodation, and multi-day availability for overseas or long-distance weddings.
At Gessica Freire Makeup, packages run from the £49 studio trial (credited back on booking) through the Signature Package (trial and wedding day from £479) to The Full Journey (£979) and destination bookings from £1,199.
Before signing any contract, ask: "What is the total cost for everything I need, trial, wedding day, travel, and my bridal party, with nothing left out?" A professional artist will give you a complete figure. If the answer is vague or keeps expanding as you ask follow-up questions, be cautious.
All packages are fully itemised. The trial is £49 (credited back in full on booking). Travel, party members, and any add-ons are quoted clearly before you commit to anything.
